Auto Glass FAQ

1. How long will it take to replace my windshield or glass?
The time it takes to replace your specific piece of glass is dependent upon your make and model of vehicle. The representative who takes your call should be able to give you a general estimate if time is a factor (i.e., lunch break, etc.).

2. Can you do the work at my home or office?
Most vehicles can be completed on a mobile basis! We offer free mobile service, pick-up, and delivery service, six days per week. Please contact our customer service representatives, at any location, for more information.

3. How soon can I drive my car after you have installed the windshield?
Preferred Glass uses state-of-the-art urethane adhesive. We do recommend you let the vehicle sit as long as possible and limit your driving for the first 12 hours. Always wear your seatbelts!

4. What do you use to “glue” the windshield in my car? Is it safe?
Our technicians use Dow Automotive urethane sealant that meets all the Federal Vehicle Safety Standards.

5. Can your installers come to my home or office on snowy days? Is weather a factor in my replacement?
Weather is a factor in the replacement of a windshield or glass. Your vehicle needs to be dry and, preferably, in a warm environment for urethane to set properly and cure effectively.

6. Does Preferred Glass work with my insurance company or agent?
Yes! We can assist you with all the reporting that is required. All you need is your policy number and the date of damage.

7. Do you waive my insurance deductible?
It is against the law in Colorado to waive deductibles! The courts have considered this practice insurance fraud.
